Do Your House Plants Need a Haircut?

My kids were at the In-Laws yesterday and Chris was at work so I was all alone! It sounds exciting but it is really hard to get things done when then house is so quiet and peaceful. It's hard to resist just taking a long bath or watching a movie all afternoon. But, I was determined not to let boredom set in so I got up and made a list of organizing projects I wanted to accomplish. I got all of it done in time to have a nap before the kids got home and we all went to some friend's for dinner. I organized my daughter's toys (the most painful) and clothes (easy) and re-organized my House-Building notebook (I feel so much better).

I also got the plants watered and as I went from plant to plant I took a pair of scissors and a garbage with me, trimming off any dead branches or leaves. I like to keep my trailing plants trimmed so they get fuller instead of "leggy". If you haven't cleaned out your plants lately this is a fast easy project you could add to your list.

I came down with a cold last night so I've been trying to stay in bed all day today. I have found that if I take it easy for a couple days then I get better quickly. If not, it drags on and I'm sick for weeks. Taking care of myself is rewarding for my whole family. The kids don't mind either. They are so cute about bringing me drinks and snacks and they don't mind being allowed to watch videos all day either!

In spite of being sick, my bathroom drawer is "getting" it tomorrow. It's been driving me crazy for too long!
