Now where did that coat run off to?

Here is a photo for all you project junkies out there. The closets aren’t finished but yesterday I installed this door that I finally finished building and painting. It goes between the girl’s closet and Victor’s closet. This is the view from his side. Didn’t you always want a secret door when you were little? It’s just the perfect size for Lovely to walk through. It’s about 3 feet tall and 2 feet wide.

It has been an exciting morning. You can see what a good time Lovely is having! Nap time might have something to do with it. Stranger hooked up an old computer so that the kids and I aren’t fighting over the same one all the time. I shouldn’t be admitting this but it took two days of searching through boxes to find all the parts. I’m still working on him to buy us a lap top! Please ignore the organized mess in my office. Some day I will get storage in there. In case you are wondering, Stranger has been home for a visit for a couple days. He’s going back to Louisiana tomorrow.

Also, look what we found on the front porch this morning trying to eat our broom. Well, I’m not sure if he was trying to eat it or drag it home with him. It’s a Mink! That’s what the stink is all about. We have a mink farm on one side of us and I’ve heard they often get out but this is the first time I’ve seen one. We’re scared to let the chickens out for fear it will eat them. I guess they are pretty vicious but he looked so cute that we all wanted to snuggle up with him. Stranger trapped him but the kids were messing around with his cardboard cage and he escaped. Oh well, I guess no new fur coats for us today! Posted by Picasa

My husband's grandparents used to own a mink farm and I can vouch for the fact that they are mean little critters! I'm sure the fact that they were stuck in cages and had the whole "we're being bred and fed just to get axed and made into coats" thing hanging over their heads didn't help much...

I love the door between the rooms idea! I'm going to steal it and then run away very very fast so you can't catch me!

"Neener, neener, neener!"
