Some Highlights

We spent HOURS cooking our turkey dinner that took 20 minutes to eat. You would think it was a lot of work for nothing but as stressful as it was at moments, as much as my feet hurt afterward, and as rough as my hands are from being in water all day with the cooking and the dishes, it was worth it! Everything was delicious and I don't want to taste anything like it or work that hard again till next year thank you very much.

I am so thankful for my family. I don’t know any other husbands that will spend two days shopping and cooking Thanksgiving dinner with their wives. Stranger and I both prepared the turkey, the potatoes, and the gravy. He cooked the green beans, I made the corn bread stuffing, and Victor made the rolls. The inlaws arrived with pie and chips and soda.

The whole thing was very unorganized. We didn’t do any shopping until yesterday but we were still able to find everything we needed. We took breaks to sew and play games but yet we still got all the food on the table shortly after the guests arrived. I don’t know how we managed it.

The most organized thing I did was to keep the sink full of hot soapy water so I could quickly wash, dry and put away each dish and pan as we were finished with it. That kept the dishes from piling up and left us more room for preparing the food.

We have never put up our dining table so Stranger and victor had to drag it in from the garage to put it together and then had to rescue it and the chairs from two years worth of storage dust. A quilt with a layer of vinyl over the top was the finishing touch. With all the food there wasn’t room for decorations anyway. Except for a couple home made corn on the cob.

I’ll try to get some recipes posted tomorrow. I hope your thankful day was as happy as ours!

8 year old Victor made the rolls. Isn't he so cool!

Is this a costume party or what?

The only logical thing to do with your popcorn decorations when you're finished with them.

Sounds luverly! And I'm so happy to meet another member of the WHC (Wonderful Husband Club).

I'm feeling a little envious because Canadian Thanksgiving was over a month ago. For the last four years when we were living in Oregon, we celebrated twice. Now that we're back in Canada, I feel like I'm missing out!

Have fun eating leftovers! My hubby thinks that's the best part. =)

If you're feeling left out you should definitely cook another thanksgiving dinner. Yes, you should! Won't that be fun?

I don't really care for the leftovers. We didn't have too many this year except for lots and lots of turkey. I've got some pie crusts in the freezer so I might have to make some turkey pot pie. Now that sounds good!

Turkey Tettrazini is really good too. And Turkey Fricasee - yumm! And if you have a meat grinder, you can make Turkey Burgers. Wish I'd thought of that instead of forgetting it in the fridge for almost a month. ~lol~

Hmm...three is the magic number. There's Canadian and American Thanksgiving...why not Kimsgiving to make it a nice even three? =P
