Smart Habit Saturday
Welcome to another Smart Habit Saturday! We've had a whole month worth of new habit's to work on. Do you feel like you are any closer to your long term goals and resolutions? I do! I picked some habits I liked this last month and I picked some I didn't like but I can say that they have all helped me get a little bit closer to my goals. The hardest part about SHS is picking just one habit to work on but that is the secret ingredient. If you jump in and try to do too much it doesn't always last. Making small changes slowly does last. That's what we're working on here, a lifetime of small changes.
If you are new to SHS find out all about it here: Getting Started with SHS

New Habit - I love my clean desk so much that this week I am going keep my kitchen counter and my sewing machine tables cleaned off as well. I clear the clutter on a daily basis but they don't stay cleared. My goal is to clear them off and learn how to make them stay that way.
Week #4 Clean off desk - This was an easy habit and it feels so great to sit down to a clean desk every day.
Last week I didn't want to commit to a new habit of going to bed without snacking because I thought it would be too hard. I'm such a big baby! Finally on Wednesday I broke down and just did it! Shockingly it didn't kill me but I did have a hard time sleeping on an empty stomach. The second and third nights it was easy and I would say I'm on my way to a new habit. I should have known I can do anything I set my mind to do. With your help of course! Who knows, maybe this new habit will help me find the skinny side of my closet!
Week #3 Planner review - This is easy to do along with my personal prayers every morning and night.
Week #2 Two personal prayers and one family prayer every day - I still have to think a little bit to make sure I say these prayers every day so it's not quite a habit yet.
Week #1 Clean the toilet once a day – I thought this would be a habit that I would drop as soon as possible because who wants to clean their toilet every single day? Surprisingly, I do, I do! I love having a clean toilet. It is so easy to do and it is so worth it! I think it has finally become a habit.

*Important - Please link to your individual SMART Habit post instead of your home page or else my Obsessive Compulsive Disorder will have to spend time fixing the links. Here is how you link to an individual post if you’ve never done it before: Right click on the date at the bottom of the post you want to link to (or the post title depending on where you blog) click “Copy Shortcut” and then paste it into Mr. Linky.

You are a great habit former! And a secret habit former, too. However, I did the same thing this week. I didn't eat any treats on two different days, and it was really kind of nice. I had to try it out before I decided to inform the world of my new habit seeking.
Here's to a decluttered counter and sewing table this week!
You are doing such a great job! Wish I could say the same. I'm not adding anything this week...except to actually do the ones I've already started! :) Thanks for doing this, Lara! I really appreciate it. Now if I can just get my behind in gear!!! Have a great weekend!
I can't get up either! I have so much to do, but enjoying blog-hopping, too!
Here goes.........*knees creaking*
I didn't realize what a Lara-addict I am until I couldn't get your site to load today. It was maddening!
I really really really want to thank you. Smart Habit Saturday is changing my life in so many ways - and not subtle ones either!
Thanks for your great ideas..and for being so fabulous! You inspire me!
I'm finally in on the action.
Oops please forgive me, oh great and compulsive one for linking to my blog and not to my smart habit post. It's late and my brain is fuzzy.
Tell me about it! My site seems to be down a lot lately. Sometimes others can view it but my part of the coutry can't. It makes me feel like I wasn't invited to my own party!
Thanks for the links everyone!
I have been skiing all day and night with my family-so I haven't even thought of a new habit. My old habits are not firm!!Either are my legs after skiing for hours, they are jello!
See you tomorrow.
I was aparently in the part of the country that couldn't see your blog yesterday! And I have something to join in on! I'm linked and ready to go now, better late than never!
BTW, mabe a clean table will have to be mine next week!
I love a clean toilet also. It only takes seconds to grab a wet washcloth out of the shower and wipe it down. I didn't really think of it has a good habit to develop till you started talking about it LOL.
Donna
I too couldn't find your blog yesterday, so I'm late at linking.
I'm such a keener I'm doing 2 habits this week. Actually I just have too much to do that I need to do more than one to get it all in this year.
Thanks for your motivation.
I am joining everyone, I stumbled on this blog today...and it is Sunday, not Sat, so I am a day late! My goal for this week is to work out every morning!
Thank you Thank you Thank you for doing SMART Habit Saturday. It is making a difference.
Good luck this week.
~Betty~
When you figure that one out (how to keep the kitchen counter clean) let me know. I have placed notes on the counter before that say "Keep me clean" or "Do not put your stuff here!" for the kids, but eventually, it just gets cluttered again.
I am a late linker too since I couldn't get into your site. I think I will hop on the keep the desk cleaned off wagon- such a good goal. Thanks for being so inspiring!
This is the link to my post! Thanks :)
