Flourless Peanut Butter Kiss Cookies

Flourless Peanut Butter Cookies
Is it my fault that Persistence wanted to make Lovely some peanut butter cookies for her birthday and then somehow we got home with two bags of chocolate kisses to adorn them with and then Persistence spent the night at Grnadma's house and left me alone with the Kissed with Death cookies? *I had to get the evil things out of the house and you know there is only one way to do that right?

As Stranger walked by the office where I was stuffing my face with only one more cookie to go he said, "What are you eating?"

"Nothing."

"What? Didn't you even save me one cookie?"

"Of course I did! See this? I was just getting up to give it to you!"

"I thought you weren't eating sugar?"

"I'm not. But I need to get all the sugar out of the house so it's not tempting me. (Pause) Do you know where any more is? Because we need to get rid of it immediately. (Pause) Seriously, if you know of any you should tell me right now."

I think the wild look in my eye scared him because he just wrenched the cookie from my death grip and backed slowly away .

Flourless Gluten-Free Peanut Butter Cookies

1 cup peanut butter
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1 tsp baking powder
Hersheys Kisses

Mix, roll, bake at 350 for about ten minutes. Add the Kiss of Death while hot from the oven. Eat every single one of them before you can even get them to a cooling rack.

LOL!!! You are a stronger woman than I. I couldn't even go one day without sugar! Those cookies look very yummy by the way! I love to make cookies, but I'm trying not to do so as much as I'd like to!

LOL! Considering in the last 2 days I've eaten a ton of M&Ms, Butterfinger hearts, 1/2 a bag of Spree, a roll of lifesavers, not to mention the whole batch of cookies I made last weekend and any other candy I'm forgetting, I won't judge you :D As long as you share!

I am going to have to try and forget I ever saw that recipe.

I am so glad that you get my rationality. If there is tempting food in the house, it must be removed asap, even if that means eating it all myself.

God's sense of humor at work.... :)

I'm a celiac and was so stoked to see a gluten free recipe for my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE COOKIES in the world...

but then I remembered that I gave up Chocolate and Peanut butter for Lent...

I think I'll save this and make tons of them to celebrate Easter! :)

Thanks
Heather

I'm having Neil read this post as soon as he gets home from work. So he knows that I'm not a freak, that it's your fault that I made cookies today, and so he understands why there aren't any left.

Wow, it is nice to know there is someone else out there with this approach! Lol!

Okay, first you cracked me up, searching out all the sugar in the house. Then, you made me drool when I got to the recipe.

I think the devil is in the simplicity of the recipe. But I'd better try it out to see.

Sounds yummy! Too bad I am on such a restrictive diabetic diet that I can't eat them! :p

Are you a gluten free gal, too? I am, so I would make those cookies, but I just gave up sugar! But they look lovely.

Oh, man, I can SO relate! I just started "The Sugar-Addict's Total Recovery Program," and I haven't given up sugar yet. But that is totally my usual approach to homemade cookies. Bake them, give a few to the kids and the neighbors, then eat the last two dozen before hubby gets home so he won't know.

You might try the book if you're interested in a gradual, biochemical-changing approach to overcoming sugar-addiction. I can't go cold-turkey for anything!! :)

Well, I have been thinking about this recipe ever since I saw it last week, and could not find it. I have gone back over every single blog I read, in search.

Yeah, me! I see Peanut Butter Kiss cookies in my indulgent future.

I am very excited to share this recipe with my friend! She's the one I alter my cornbread recipe for...swapping out the regular wheat flour for 1/3 C rice flour and 2/3 C soy flour (then increase the oil some). This is great. She's going to love you! I already do.
