Organize Your Bathroom Drawer
*Updated
Alissa brought up a good point in the comments. Little girls love to get into all these fun hair accessories. When Persistence was little I kept them in a flat tackle box with a tight fitting lid. The clasp was too strong for her to open but she could get it out of the drawer and bring it to me. The tight lid andthe compartments kept everything from tumbling together. By the time she was old enough to open it she was old enough to stay out of it! Lovely hasn't made an attempt to get into this drawer yet. She isn't as, shall we say, persistant as my older daughter!
I was getting tired of this
It's a great organizing container that I bought at Target several years ago. It has lots of little compartments and the top layer slides back and forth. My problem with it was that it didn't have any big compartments for larger hair accessories. So I stopped at the dollar store and found some great stuff!
And so cheap! Why haven't I shopped the dollar store for containers before?
I don't know! I outfitted this drawer for less than three dollars and look how perfectly the containers fit! There is only a tiny corner of wasted space. I love it! I am just in want of some smaller containers to work with it. I have those round red dishes in there until...

The dollar store now that is a good idea! I have done something similiar to what you have here...it was a fish tackle box you can adjust to make the sections as big or small as you like. You can take a look at it here: http://aprilcurry.blogspot.com/2007/02/frys-and-more-purchases.html
Thanks for all your great posts. I share your passion of organizing.
I miss American dollar stores sooo much! The ones here aren't true dollar stores at all, everything just goes up in increments of a dollar. Bleh!
Love the drawer! I just re-did my kitchen drawers today and I'm doing the bathroom ones next now. Thanks for the inspiration!
Why HAVEN'T I shopped at the dollar store for containers?? I was just feeling the need to tackle my pantry, but can't afford anything right now. But, I may have $5 and that would be a good start!
You have a bathroom drawer? I might just have to feel jealous! ;)
Looks great. I love the dollar store. i get alot of my containers there too.

I love looking for containers at the dollar store, though I think you are the only person I know who takes her camera with her lol :D I'm heading there today to get a few things and drool over containers :)
I love shopping the Dollar store for containers. Cute and cheap - can't get any better! :) We use the same mascara...sorry I noticed it and just thought you needed to know! ;) Happy Spring!
Amazingly I love shopping at the Dollar Store for containers, too. However, the Dollar Stores here aren't nearly as good as the ones where you live or the ones I used to go to in CA. In July I better stock up!
you inspire me :)
you obviously don't have the problem i have with dds who unorganize everything i've just barely organized...
my dd's would have removed those tiny baskets and put them to good use storing something else, like polly pocket shoes/skirts/hats.
You've never shopped the Dollar Store for containers...Lara I'm shocked!! The Dollar Store is my second home...lol. However when I saw your Dollar Store picture I nearly fell off my chair because my Dollar Store has no where near that kind of selection. Wow, I am so jealous. Our store has maybe the top shelf only. You are one lucky lady....now I'm wondering how it is you didn't buy the store out...such self control!!!
Laura
I bought containers today!
I went to the dollar store yesterday and managed to not buy a single container, but it was hard! There was a few dozen I would have liked, but I restrained myself cuz we don't "need" them and I'm trying not to buy things I don't really need lol. I picked up at least 10 but put them all back.
