Let me act now even though my actions may not bring happiness or success for it is better to act and fail than not to act and flounder.
I will act now.”
By OG Mandino The greatest Salesman in the world
I will act now. I keep saying that but then I keep staying up too late. Life keeps happening. I must not really want to get to bed early. I want to read or work on the computer more than I want to go to bed. But I did come up with a sneaky plan this last week. Do you want to know what it is so you can hoodwink your own kids?
What I did was get ready and go to bed early. The kids see me in bed so they go to bed. I wait till their lights are off and then I sneak out of bed to answer e-mails. Now you know what a criminal mind I have. I inherited it from my husband's side of the family.
The habit I'm working on this week is replying to all my e-mails. Obviously I was working on it last week too since I was sneaking out of bed to do it. It does add some extra computer time to my day but I get tired of sending e-mails that don't get any response. Especially when it is to family or friends. How could they just ignore me like that?
Then I started thinking about the whole "Inspire not Require" thing and now I'm feeling stupid for all the e-mails I never respond to. No more! I'm going to get inspiring. Even if it is just a short little line to acknowlege the e-mail, I will respond. It may take me a few days but I'm working on it.
Now don't everyone go and send me a bunch of e-mails this week just to test me. Take it easy on me as I'm starting out, ok? Ok.

I ditched my habit list this week because I got tired of updating it. Simplify Lara! Let go! You can do it!

Nice job on the simplification! I love your quote too, it really speaks to the procrastinator in me, but then she says "eh, I'll think about that tomorrow" ;-) or is that the Scarlet O'Hara in me? :-D Good luck this week!
Have to say that I am drooling over your quilt! Still!
Amazing applique and quilting.
Ha! Sneaking off to check your e-mail, that's great. If going to bed early is something you really don't want to do then why fight it? Good for you for responding to your e-mails. I do pretty well on that but I'm sure I don't get as many as you do. Have a great week!
O.K. This post really speaks to me today. I've been having kind of a rough time lately so I've been feeling like I just need to do something. And simplifying sounds wonderful! Now to just do it!
Thank you, Lara, once again!
Okay, I'm going to give this another shot... I'm so desperately in need of some new GOOD habits.
You're ditching your list and I'm making mine! Perhaps when I feel like I've got things together a little better, I'll drop it too (just don't hold your breath!)
When you figure out how to get to bed on time, let me know. I don't have to sneak around, but I have the same problem staying up too late :)
