Smart Habit Saturday

I made a new banner and a button for my sidebar!!! Thanks again Karen for teaching me how and thank you Kara for making the banner we've been using all year! Everyone is welcome to use both of them. Just copy them to your hard drive and upload them to your blog.

"Remember, you will always be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the things that you did. Again, you must do in order to be."

My new habit is to become a woman of action. Too often when I get a prompting to do something I tell myself, "Ya, ya, I'll think about it later." But later never comes because I've forgotten all about it by then. From now on I will act immediately. If it is something I need to do later then I will write it down and follow through. It's amazing how many promptings I recieve when I pay attention and make myself open to them. I made a special place in my notebook where I can write them so I don't forget anymore. I don't want to keep forgetting to do the important things in life or all the goodness will keep passing me by. I will do so I can be.
One little example from today -> We bought a couple extra sandwiches at KFC and I thought I should offer them to a man waiting outside for a bus. I felt pretty silly offering him food when he was standing there minding his own business. I thought he might just tell me to get lost but he didn't. He looked at it and said, "Cool! Thanks." And I thought, "Cool!"
I didn't save the world or anything with my sandwiches but who knows what good I can do if I keep it up. I can make a difference one sandwich (action/habit) at a time!

What a fun and service oriented habit! Your generosity is inspiring.
WOW, this is a neat goal. I admire you for deciding to conciously follow that still small voice that's inside us all. Too often do we get caught up in all the things we HAVE to do or what's coming up, that we miss all those little moments that our hearts speak to us in the here and now. I can't wait to see how you do with this next week and I love the example!
I love your habit this week, it's one we would all do well to adopt. At least, I know I would. It will be neat to hear how your week goes.
Hi! I'm joining in this week for the first time. I love your habit!! I linked mine, but it won't be visible until 12am on Saturday morning, when it will auto-post.
Thanks for hosting!
Nikki
Wow - what an inspiring habit! I'm always kicking myself for not listening to that little internal whisper - I even argue with it at times, but it seems to be ALWAYS right!
I have found that I forget about ideas/inspirations that pop into my head when I don't write them down. Thanks for the reminder to not neglect these good deeds!
And yay to you for following through with your inspiration. :-)
I love the new banner!!
Oh, and, I'm not done with SMART habits, I just am not good at getting much of anything done during the summer....School starts soon, so I should be back at it, again!
Ooh, that's something that we can all learn from, Lara. I need to be more aware of that too. Also, did I miss where we can get the code for the new button? Which I love! It's perfect.
Great habit! Good luck with that it, I look forward to hearing what you do this week. And I love the new banner.
The new banner is GREAT!
Love the new banner! And whata great habit to work on :D
Love the new banner and your new inspiring goal for this week. it is a great idea to write it down to as I have no idea how many great ideas and opportunities to help someone else were lost just by not doing them straight away and being forgotten. You go girl.....I am very proud of you.
what a great goal Lara!
I've been lurking on your blog for a while now, and I'm anxious to get going. I did goof and linked to my blog, rather than the individual post . . . sorry! I'm baby-stepping into the blogging world, and quickly finding it addicting. I'll, hopefully, have a real post on my habits next week! See you then.
I love this site. So helpful. Beautiful new button.
You are so so sweet - giving me FAR more credit than I could possibly deserve. I just asked the questions - you were nice enough to research and answer :) The link love is MUCH appreciated, however.
Love the new banner - hope to include it next week!
As always you have good ideas. Would you like to use me as a "project" this week(Thurs) and help me finish two desks? I know that hubby isn't going to have much spare time.
By the way, the envelope is a good idea, simple but good!
Once I have this baby I am so going to join you ladies. How is that for setting a goal!
Lara, love the new banner! Even if I'm not participating in SHS right now, I always come to see what you're working on. Love your goal this week. Good Luck!
