Project Deadlines

We have been working on our unfinished house projects and have actually accomplished some of them! I have to tell you the truth. I didn't really think that writing dates next to these projects would help us get them done any faster. I was just doing it to humor Julia but low and behold, it really works! Most of the things on our list seemed too hard to even try to get done but we've been working on them one by one and we're seeing results.

So far I have installed towel hooks in my bathroom, designed and ordered the island for my kitchen and the mirrors for our bathrooms. That alone would be enough to amaze you (right?) but we have also installed our house numbers, Stranger installed the faucet for our garage sink and he has our chicken coop half built, I have a guy coming over on Thursday to finish a landscape design that he started for us last year, I designed my pantry cabinets today and we have men coming tomorrow to get our cement work prepped and ready to pour. I thought I would cry if I had to go another winter without a driveway but I think I'm going to cry from happiness now that I don't!

You can see that this is really working for us so I want you to try it for yourself. Make a list of all those unfinished house, craft and other projects you have floating around in your head. Write a finish date next to each one and watch how much more you accomplish in your life.

Now go take a look at my list and tell me whose is longer. If it sounds like I'm feeling sorry for myself, I am, but not as sorry as I would feel if I didn't have a my amazing plan!

I have a list.. but no dates. Which I suppose is why they are still on the list.
I'll give it a try!

Just want to share a cool tool with you...I recently discovered cozi.com (an online calendar with great features). I was addicted to planners, but no longer need them. One helpful feature is lists - I particularly favor this because it eliminates the need for paper (and we should all do our part to save a tree or two). I could go on and on about the site, but you should check it out and let us know what you think.

BTW - love your blog - thanx 4 the wonderful tips!
