Smart Habit Saturday

Welcome! If you are new to SHS find out all about it here: Getting Started with SHS. Click here to read more SHS posts. Please don't forget to link back to this post so your readers can find out more about SHS.
I Googled Smart Habits today and guess what? We're number two around here with our Smart Habit Saturday. Isn't that cool? So who was number one? Jump Start Your New Year with 7 Smart Habits by Kathy Gates.
Perhaps the most important of all the habits is to be consistent in whatever you do. Being consistent is what makes or breaks great people and great lives. Anyone who is organized, works on it consistently, not "whenever". Anyone who is in good physical shape, works on it consistently, not hit-or-miss. It's more about making a new habit, than it is the intensity of it at the beginning. Once the habit is instilled, it will be much easier to raise the intensity.
If you are looking for new habits to work on she has some great ideas. I did a lot better with my scripture reading this week but I still need to work on it again. This has got to become a habit in my life if I ever want to reach my potential. Luckily I have the rest of my life to do that but I'd better start now!
Have fun with your habits this week and don't forget to check back to sign up for all the fun give aways I have coming up. The Organize Magazine subscription give away is over but it's not to late to win a copy of A Life Less Cluttered.
*Important - Please link to your individual SMART Habit post instead of your home page or else my Obsessive Compulsive Disorder will have to spend time fixing the links. Here is how you link to an individual post if you’ve never done it before: Right click on the date at the bottom of the post you want to link to (or the post title depending on where you blog) click “Copy Shortcut” and then paste it into Mr. Linky.

I really like this quote.
By the way, did you come up with the SMART Habit idea - Saving Money, Associates, Resources and Time or is it from somewhere else? You think I should know this :) !!
I came up with it myself. Can you believe it!
I can't believe you guys have stuck with me for so long! Do you have any ideas on how we could change SHS for next year? I've thought about just posting once a month to give more time for each habit but I'm afraid people will forget about it if they waited that long. What do you all think?
I hope you don't mind me jumping in. I found this the other day and thought "That is just what I need."
hmm. once a month vs. every week. I'm not sure. Sometimes I do want to take a break from posting about smart habits, but maybe doing it every week is what makes me accountable. That's what I've liked about it.
Oh, I say keep it weekly. I would definately forget to work on things if it was that far apart. Knowing that I'm going to be reporting on my progress in just a few days is very motivating!
I think I'd forget to do it, unless it was weekly.
I agree about the accountability factor. In fact, I mention that in my own SMART Habit post this week. Something about sharing with others makes us seem more likely to stick with things I think. But, with a new baby next year...the question is what makes sense for you???
I'd say keep it weekly too. It has helped when I remember to do it!
I'm back. I'm excited to start some more SMART habits.
I know I am new at this (only my second go) but I say keep it weekly. I can't actually manage it weekly it seems but if it were monthly I'd forget about it.. at least this way even if I don't post a habit like last Saturday, I still knew I should have!
i'm a bit late posting mine for the week but am glad i made it in the end. hope your week goes well and good luck getting the reading in.
as far as SHS for next year goes...i'll have to think about it for a bit and see what i ideas i can rummage out of my brain. the important thing would be what would work best for you :o)
have a great week. ~jenn
I like weekly for accoutability. Maybe some weeks we could just focus on our successes? Or failures... a kind of "what was I thinking" - to keep us realistic. Just kinda thinking out loud here. And since some of us work on similar habits - maybe we could do some together, like drinking water.
Regardless, thanks for hosting us.
I just found this...I love it, might really help me out. Thanks!
