Have I Mentioned Lately
That we're moving to South America? Yes, it's true. In Stranger's dreamland. We're selling our house and everything we own and moving to South America so we can learn Spanish. I've told him we could just hire a Spanish speaking maid but for some reason he doesn't think that's as good an idea. Quitting your job and moving to another country makes much more sense.
To tell you the truth the kids and I are all for it as long as we can take our chickens with us.
So if you were moving south which country would you choose?

Umm, California? I think the southern tip pretty much counts as another country now.
Plus, you could still drink the water.
A good friend of mine lives in Brazil & just loves it!
I served my mission in Mexico and would LOVE to live there again! I think Spain would come a close second.
Chile. I think it is gorgeous! (Not that I have been there - only seen pics from a friend!!)
Here is a link to our missionary friends...they are in Costa Rica learning spanish, then they will go to Mexico.

If I say this to loudly my hub will have us packed up and moving, but Costa Rica, our church is building a church there.
I guess I've never really thought about that before. I'm from Florida, and I got my fill of the heat, so I think I'll be staying in the North for a while, yet!
I'd love to visit, though. I've never been out of the US. I've been all over it, but not out!
It is in Central, not South, America, but I'd choose Costa Rica. Nicaragua is great too, but the economy and politics are more stable in Costa Rica.
I've heard Ecuador is nice, but seriously, I'd vote for California too.
Costa Rica even though it's not quite in South America. Close enough??
So Cal will do just fine. Our school is only 37% white. We have lots and lots of spanish speaking people, plus all of the signs in Target have both the english and spanish words printed on them. The water is drinkable, but there is often a drought. Your chickens will fit in with the horses.
I'm in Canada, and if I were going anywhere south it'd be somewhere where it's warm all year round. :)
I would want to live in China because that is where my daughter was born. There are so many amazing things to see there. I would love to learn to speak Chinese. Of course, I would only want to live there temporarily, maybe for a couple of year. I don't thing I could handle boiling the water or using bottled water to brush my teeth with for very long.
The most complicated solution makes to the most sense to husbands. Not sure why...like having 20 kids.
I'm starting a new blog, BookWise and Loving It. I hope you'll check it out.
BTW, my friend can't stop raving about Chile. I think that's what I would pick.
I was a volunteer missionary in Brazil and loved it. Brazil isn't a Spanish speaking country though. Their official language is Portuguese. Really...the most important thing is to go where God leads...no matter what the language.
Mexico...hands down! My husband was born there and my children are bilingual...our goal is to move there someday. Probably when the kids are independent and on their own. Then we ditch them!
Southern California all the way. I would love to return to my mother land =) !!
I would go way, way, way south- then go some more until I reached Alaska or Canada. Told you it was way, way, way south.
Not quite in South America, but I'd pick Belize. Or Mexico. It is our dream to move to Central America someday. I think your husband has the right idea!
Cancun, Mexico (beautiful carribean)
