Smart Habit Saturday

Welcome! If you are new to SHS find out all about it here: Getting Started with SHS. Click here to read more SHS posts. Please don't forget to link back to this post so your readers can find out more about SHS.
At any time you can look yourself in the mirror and say, “Hey, I don’t like that about myself,” and you can exchange a bad habit for a better one.
It’s not always easy, but it’s always possible.
The Seven Habits of Highly Effective Teens by Sean Covey
I want to pick a habit this week that I can actually succeed at while sick in bed most of the day and the only thing I can think of is reading to my kids. I don't have a problem reading to them. The problem I have is getting them to hold still long enough for me to read to them! They usually love to read with me but things have changed since I've been sick. I guess I just don't have the energy to reign them in anymore and they tend to run wild more often than they should. They know once they escape outside away from my clutches that I will not have the energy to come after them!
So this week I am going to exert myself and read to them whether they like it or not!
*Important - Please link to your individual SMART Habit post instead of your home page or else my Obsessive Compulsive Disorder will have to spend time fixing the links. Here is how you link to an individual post if you’ve never done it before: Right click on the date at the bottom of the post you want to link to (or the post title depending on where you blog) click “Copy Shortcut” and then paste it into Mr. Linky.

I'm not quite ready for an SHS post yet but will be back next week! Hope your week goes well and you have more good days than bad. Oh and I hope hubby is bringing you flowers & showering you with kisses!
Enjoy the reading time!
I am on to habit #2...
Lara, I feel for you!! It has been a while since I was preggers (youngest is 10), but both pregnancies brought me morning sickness (which was all day sickness....I will spare you the details). I read recently on a Works for Me Wednesday Post a couple of ideas that I wish I had known then that I want to pass on to you. Have you tried those motion sickness bracelets? You can usually get them at CVS or Walgreens or Rite Aid. I heard these really help....as well as instant mashed potatoes and ginger candy. I didn't try those then because I didn't know....but it is worth a try...
Good luck! Reading with the kids is my new habit this week too. Sorry you haven't been feeling well.
I have finally gotton back into trying to orginize my life!! YAY!!!
September was such a crazy and sad month for me that I just completely forogt about being SMART :(
I'm hooked! This is my first SMS! I'm stoked to get those bags and find out what all the fuss is about!!
Thanks for letting slackers keep trying! Hang in there, girl!
I so feel for you - reading to your kids when you feel lousy is so NOT fun! I do book reviews every week if you need some ideas!
Maybe you could play cards together in between books? Or maybe they could play while you napped - wake me when it's time to read again :)
