Before And After
I did it. I finally made myself finish painting the girls' room. I painted one coat on the ceiling and took a break, painted another coat and took a break. Then I spent two sessions cutting in the corners and around the window and doors. It wasn't that bad because it's a small room but I was exhausted by the time I dropped into bed last night.

It's difficult to really tell the difference because of the different lighting. I must have taken the first photo in the late afternoon and the next photo I took in the bright morning light.

But do you love it? I love it!! I'm so glad I finished it instead of chickening out halfway through. I like how it accents the lower walls and trim and makes it look like it's painted a color instead of just a version of white. I know you people with red walls think I'm crazy making such a big deal out of white and off white but I can't help my obsessive compulsive disorder!
I'm seriously not afraid of color, I promise. See what I did in my son's room? And I had all kinds of color in my last house. I'm just steering away from too much craziness in this house because I don't want to get sick of the paint any time soon!
This was Persistence's girlie room in our last house. Too much purple!

I love the color! It's very pretty.
Glad you finished your project! I'm sure it feels great to get that off of your list. :D
It's nice, and its so clean looking!\
Skimming through when you were talking about your son's room, then next thing I see is purple, and I thought "whoa, poor kid." LOL.
Now that I have clicked on the link and seen his real room, it looks great too!
Lara, I like the subtle contrast between the white and off white. Painting scares the dickens out of me, I don't know why, it just does. Glad you finished it and you're happy with it.
I absolutely love the way the room looks. I keep trying to talk my girls out of BRIGHT yellow and BRIGHT blue and BRIGHT _____. I love all of the whites and barely there colors - so clean and fresh.
I'm glad that you got it finished. I still have to finish the desks in my kids bedrooms. I am reminded everytime I drive into my garage!
Gorgeous! And don't think I didn't notice the crackle paint on the furniture. And I adore the headboard!
I would have loved to have known you when I was a painter by trade!
I love white walls with off-white trim!!! It's my favorite color combination and the one I had at my old house (until I re-painted for the market). I haven't done that in the new house becasue it has NO, I repeat NO architectural detail, and so the white just looks like a hospital. But I love it in a house with gorgeous wainscoting like yours! :-)

I love white walls.
I did have a purple bedroom in my younger years and it was way too much. I think it scared me of color. And I hate purple now.
