Smart Habt Saturday 2008!

Welcome! If you are new to SHS find out all about it here: Getting Started with SHS. Click here to read more SHS posts. Please don't forget to link back to this post so your readers can find out more about SHS.

Are we ready to get SMART for 2008? I am! Thank you to all of you who joined me last year in creating new positive habits. I hit a bad spot in September when I became very ill with my pregnancy but I have good news. I'm 22 weeks along today and I'm feeling better than ever. I even stopped taking the worst of my medications last week and I'm still surviving. This is a major improvement over my last pregnancy that had me sick until the very end. Yay!

It is so fun to look back over last year and see all the improvements I've made in my life. Not every single one of my habits has stuck but my house is about ten times cleaner on a daily basis than it was before and I am keeping better track of my schedule which is a major accomplishment for me. How do the rest of you feel about 2007? Did you make some good changes?

This year I'm going to be concentrating on my reading and studying, Mom's Mission Impossible projects, and getting my meal plans and food storage organized. It seems a bit overwhelming but I know I can do it a little bit at a time.

I am going to make one big change with SHS and that is to work on only one habit a month instead of adding a new one every week or so. Hopefully this will give me more time to get each habit established instead of giving me more time to procrastinate!

My habit for January is meal planning and sticking with it. This is the year. I can feel it!

If you are new and you want to catch up on last year - Smart Habit Saturday 2007

I'm heading back home from visiting family over the holidays tomorrow so I won't be SMART until next Saturday but I am excited about starting again. I really want to do a whole house purge - starting with the kids' rooms and finally get the last pieces of furniture we need. Good luck on your meal planning! That's one I definitely need to get into gear as well. Have a great weekend!

I think one thing a month is doable for me, but I am going to have to think on which habit to pick.

Yay! I was just posting about SHS! I probably won't participate until after we move in February, but look for me later this year.

I've never been first on the list before! I'm glad to come back! I like the idea of only doing a new habit each month.

I like the idea of working on one habit for a month too! That way I can concentrate on one thing and make sure I really have it down. Thanks for hosting!

I'm back on track. Thanks for keeping us motivated Lara. Like you, I am working on meal planning. Mealtimes are huge issues in our house...and I am tired of it!

I think this is a wonderful idea! It gives us a month to get the habit in our routine before we add another.

Can we keep this a weekly check-in post though so we can still be accountable to each other? Just a short note weekly saying how many times we accomplished the new habit that week?

Yes, I will still post weekly so we can check in. Otherwise I think we'd all forget about our habits!

I think one habit a month will be much more accomplishable (is that a word?) than once a week. Let us know which Saturday!

I would very much like to join SMART habit Saturday. I've linked to my SMART habit(s) for Janaury which are menu planning and tidyness. I will be 23 weeks pregant on Monday and I found this site from the Ordinary Mom site which I linked to from my sister-in-law's blog.
