A Sampling of the Weird Family

People have been asking me what kind of storage shelves we bought this week. These are great shelves we got at Sam's Club. They're sturdy and not too expensive at $60 a unit. We're not storing our buckets on them but we needed shelves for canned goods and a lot of the other items on my storage list.

We had a home school Valentine party today of which I didn't take any decent photos of as usual. It's a good thing I always keep my camera in my purse or else I might forget to forget to use it.

One of the things I love about home schooling are the activities. It's not just a classroom of fourth graders having a party at school. It's a building full of families with kids and parents of all ages, spending time together, having fun. I would be missing out on all that fun if I sent my kids off to school every day.

Someone mentioned to me the other day that they couldn't tell from my blog that I home school. I guess I don't mention it very often except to make fun of my kids for looking like home schoolers. Then it hit me that someone who didn't know us might think I was making fun of home schoolers! Well, I am but I can because I am one.
I also love the times that just the Moms get together for book discussions and sharing nights because the Moms I meet are so amazing! I wish some of them were home schooling me! They asked me to talk about organizing last month and it was so much fun that we did it again last night. If you haven't invited me over yet to yap about organizing, you should. Invite a bunch of friends, make some yummy food and I will be there!

No, worms did not dig tunnels on my daughter's arm. This is what happens when you put together a giant rubberband and your father teaches you how to stretch it around the house a couple times and then when he isn't there to supervise you try it again except that this time you let go of it while your sister is holding onto the other end.
By the way, I can never figure out when to use onto/on to and into/in to. I read this explanation but I still can't figure it out. So is it "onto the other end" or "on to the other end"?
I also don't know which is correct, home school, home-school, or homeschool. Maybe I need to go back to school to figure it out.

we have those same shelves in our basement. they are great (i have a shelf for canning supplies, a whole unit for food, a shelf for painting supplies, 2 shelves for camping supplies, etc).
we homeschooled for a while. i've seen it written all three ways, so i really don't think it matters.
I think 'onto' is right, and that arm looks painful. I bet she wouldn't have learned that lesson in school. ;)
I need a shelving system like that in my laundry room. Not for food storage but cleaning supplies, business stuff, scrappy stuff...just well, stuff. But not that silly excess stuff you've been talking about lately. ;) The Valentine party looked like it was fun. My stepmom home-schools my younger siblings and she enjoys it. She also has her teaching credentials, I don't know that I would feel comfortable home schooling or be very good at it. I'm looking forward to sending them off to school and having a few hours to take work my business, clean house or whatever else I'd like.
I homeschool (the way I spell it, too) and have for 14 years. We love it! My first 2 have graduated and are attending college. I have a 9 and 13 year old still at home. I wouldn't have it any other way.
I love those shelves. I need those in my garage and my basement. My husband gets tons of chemicals and we store them in the garage. I have an entire food/freezer room in the basement where I use those cheapo fake wood bookcases. Those metal ones look like they would hold up well.
Well, I would venture a guess that the correct one would be "on to" in your sentence. And I am sure there is a grammatical explanation for why I feel that way. But I don't know it off hand! :-p (Maybe because it would make sense as holding "to" the other end as well... *shrug*)
I spell it homeschool, but my spell check always underlines it, so I guess it must be home schoolBut I am too lazy for that! LOL
(I just noticed that I responded primarily to the grammar thoughts in your post. Maybe I am a geek or something?!) haha
(not that I can type in any way grammatically correct! HA!) lol
Thanks for telling us where you bought the shelves! That is information I will be using soon.
And for some reason I knew you homeschooled before you posted this...I don't really remember what gave me that impression.
I'll so book you for a party...but do you work internationally? =P
It's onto. You had it correct.
So you are serious about coming over for an organizing party? Do I have to provide something for you to organize or do you bring a powerpoint of all your favorite projects? I'll make a house full of yummy food if it helps get you here. And please bring your kids. My kids need to know there are more wonderfully weird families out there.
I didn't know you homeschooled. I do too and my blog smacks of homeschooling because I don't have anything else cool like organizing bags to blog about :)
Please don't talk about homeschool ..tee hee, we homeschooling moms go to other sites to get away from it! Ha Ha! This party was a great idea-
