Talk About TuesdayWelcome to Talk About Tuesday! If you are new, check out the Guidelines before posting. Thanks for joining us!

Shoveling Snow

The Great Wall of Snow

We're getting a little bit tired of winter around here. I don't mind the snow really. It's much more beautiful than the mud and weeds in our unfinished yard that we have to look at the rest of the year. I just don't want any more of it, we have enough, thank you very much.

Knitted Flower
It was fun to stay inside where it's warm yesterday and knit up a little bit of spring myself. (Links to the patterns here.)

Knitted Flower PiecesWith all these little teeny tiny pieces it's not the sort of knitting you can do while you're talking on the phone or managing children. At least I can't. If you can count and carry on a conversation at the same time you are more talented than I am.

Knitted Flower Pacifier Clip

Knitted Daisy Hat Lovely was so excited for me to finish the hat for her.

Knitted Daisy Hat She wore it last night and told me a dozen different times, "Thank you for making this hat for me Mommy." I got lots of hugs and kisses over the joy that it brought her. Then this morning it promptly got taken away after she tried to tear the thing apart to get the fuzz off of it. That's my little sweetie.

Fuzzy Wuzzy Was a Bear

I may have never mentioned it before but she's addicted to fuzz. It began when she was almost one and she started grabbing the tassles on my sweatshirts and rubbing them on her nose. It was all very innocent. Then she got a green fuzzy blanket for Christmas that year and things went from bad to worse. She picked the fuzz off of it and stuffed it up her nose. At first I thought it was an accident. It took weeks for me to figure out she was putting it there on purpose. The fuzzing was out of control. Our entire lives were covered in green fuzz.

Fuzzy Wuzzy Was a BearI eventually took the blanket away but she was unstoppable. It's not like a pacifier or bottle habit that you can take away. She can find fuzz everywhere. She gets it from sweaters and furniture. She will lean over and pick fuzz off of strangers sitting by us in Church. She lives for fuzz.

Help me!!!!

(The last two photos of Fuzzy Wuzzy were taken a year ago.)

What was I talking about again? Oh ya. What do you have to talk about this week?

Too cute! You guys do have a lot of snow. Wow. I LOVE what you knitted. I need to learn to knit to make that darling pacifier holder.

Love the hat and pacifier keeper. Does the flower mean you are having a girl??

That is such a cute paci holder. You did a wonderful job.
Kind of funny about the fuzz fetish. I don't know how to help you there. Hopefully she'll out grow it.

I think I'd be sick of snow too if we had that much of it! I bet the kids are having fun in it though.

The hat and pacifier holder are really adorable. Good job!

My daughter has a thing for sticking play-doh up her nose. They have lighted crochet hooks to match the lighted needles that work great for getting stuff like that out. So not kidding.

I did the fuzz thing when I was little. I would pick a little bit of fuzz off of something (blankets, clothing, the carpet, anything fuzzy within reach), tuck it in my curled up index finger, and use it torub my nose while I sucked my thumb. I'm sure my mom was super frustrated with me, because I would literally pick holes in things without even realizing it.

Anyway, very cute knitting. I need to do some more practicing so I can do stuff like that too.

Ah, the fuzz fetish. When my cousin was little he would pick little strings or fuzz off of his car seat and humm while doing it. by the time he had grown out of it, the front was just foam.

I can't believe that snow! We only had two flurries this year so far.

Jake had a fuzz thing, too, when he was about 2. We kept pulling stuff out of his noise and not knowing where it was coming from...until we noticed his favorite stuffed lamb getting balder and balder...

my nephew is into fuzz as well... has defluffed more than one teddy bear in his fervor for the stuff.

My sister would pull the little fuzzballs off of blankets, roll them in her fingers, and call them "babies". No putting them up her nose though. So funny! I mean, that's not funny at all. hee hee.
