Talk About Tuesday
Welcome to Talk About Tuesday! If you are new, check out the Guidelines before posting. Thanks for joining us!
The Forum and Family Ball was on Saturday and it was fun and it's over and I'm so happy! People kept asking me if I was ready for my presentation and if I was nervous. Yes, I was ready and no I wasn't nervous. What is there to be nervous about when you are getting up in front of 100 people and talking about your one true love? I had a great time! My husband said my voice sounded a little bit nervous but I seriously don't know what that was all about because I really didn't feel nervous. I even managed to put together a slide show which was fun because what good is an organizing presentation without photos? The only bad part was that I ran out of time, which I knew would happen but I just can't seem to control myself once I start talking. That and the fact that the audience members were getting together to plan a sabotage of my organized purse that included smashed Cheerios. Luckily my purse and I got out of there unscathed.
I am going to start planning a weekend Organizing Retreat so that I can have more time to cover all the organizing subjects I want to talk about. Mark your calendar for next January and we will get seriously organized, OK?
My life is feeling rather random lately so here are some more random thoughts. We made another run for food storage last week. Anyone hungry for sugar, rice, oats, wheat and beans? Sounds yummy, doesn't it! I'm almost done with the basics and then I am going to start adding canned foods. Mostly that means lots and lots of tomatoes. Can I just say, I'm in love!
Look at the lovely gifts my kids made me for my birthday last month.
My son spent about six hours painting this rock for me. Do you see the season theme going on?
To Whom It May Concern,
Please forgive me for calling you 47 times today. I know I left a message with my number the first time I called but I had you on my list to talk to and I just could not be happy until I crossed you off. I'm still not happy because I never got a hold of you but I will forgive you for not being there for me when I needed you if you can forgive me for sort of stalking you.
And if you don't have caller ID, never mind.
Sincerely,
Lazy
What are you talking about this week?

The rock your son painted is just beautiful. How old is he? I am sure that is something you all will treasure.
Blessings~
Those are such cute presents!
This is my first time doing this, so I hope I got linked up right. I wasn't sure how to get a direct link to this post of yours, instead of your blog in general. And I hope I put the button in my post right. :)
We've been filling buckets with oats, beans, and macaroni noodles like mad too. It feels good doesn't it?
I tried to help you out with some good places to start for book lists on my TAT post. Hope it's helpful!
I loved the bit on the phone stalking - I think that same thing! Sometimes I hate caller ID (I don't have it) - I don't want someone knowing how much time I have on my hands that I can call them 20 times in a day! By the way the TJ ed. forum was great - thanks for encouraging me to come.
Sign me right up for that retreat (do we really have to wait 'til next January?):)
Those gifts are sweet and beautiful.
I wish I could have made it to the forum! I've heard bits and pieces, and sounds like it was fabulous. Next year!
I wasn't able to come to the forum. :( But, we were able to witness my son's friends baptism and had a wonderful time. I'm going to definitly plan on going next year, though.
And BTW- Happy Belated Birthday!

Hi All! New poster here. HA how funny, I was looking for a few things to organize with and came along to this blog. How funny! I just love it and it seems a lot of you are very near me and where I live. How cool. Many of my blog friends are so far away even though we are real friends in life...I am talking a lot of them overseas so nice to see some locals!
I will have to think on a post for Talk about Tuesday if I may participate!?! I would love to get to know some more beautiful women as well as share some ideas and stories etc...I am a designer, but positive I can learn from everyone here in the creative dept. I am impressed already!
Cheers all!
Molly
I'm glad to hear your presentation went well. I always run out of time whenever anyone is dumb enough to give me the chance to talk about something I love. I wish I could have been there to see you in your element.
Now about that tomato soup.... It looks incredible but I'm curious about the cooking Sherry (and the fact that it gets added at the end with no more boiling). Not to be an alcohol Nazi or anything, but I'm wondering if you've tried this with a substitute? I mean, how would it look to have a big crate of Sherry in with my food storage?
Great job getting your food storage!! Looks great!!
Julie, as you know I never follow any recipe exactly. I didn't have Sherry but I do have a big jug of cooking wine in my pantry. As long as it says "Cooking" I think you are totally legal. Except that mine doesn't. It is just a bottle of wine but I have a few recipes that can't do without it.
I added the wine in the beginning of the cooking and I only used about 1/3 cup. I think you could leave it out and it would still be fabulous.
I also pureed the sauteed onions and the chopped tomatoes in the food processor so it wouldn't be so chunky. We're a Campbell's tomato soup family and I didn't want anyone to choke to death on this soup.
I have to tell you that my three year old even loved the stuff. She ate THREE (small) bowls and wouldn't even touch the cheese sandwiches we served with it!
The kids' gifts are beautiful. You can see that your son spent a great deal of time, effort and love in painting you that rock.
Very sweet. Happy Birthday!
What sweet gifts from your children. I need to help my 2 and 5 year old come up with something for their daddy this week. Good job on your food storage too. That's something we've talked about, but still need to put into action.
I would like to add my post, but do not see the mr. linky thing. Here is my link. http://asahmsblog.blogspot.com/2008/03/talk-about-tuesday.html
Thank you!

Wow...that rock is just incredible! What a talented guy!
Those are the sweetest little gifts!
I finally remembered to add my post today. I keep missing TAT! Really shows how organized I am. ;)
your kids are so talented!
OK added my blog entry for today in the links. Thanks to some of you already for visiting my blog!
Have a great day! I too love the rock. VERY creative!! I painted some when a kid for "prayer rocks". Sub your toe on one in the morning to remind you to kneel and hit your head on the other one on your pillow to remind you before bed. Just don't hit them too hard lol!
All that food storage! We are slowly but steadly building ours up. I made some excel sheets to help me keep track of what we have and how much we should have. They have been very helpful. When I go to do shopping I just look at my files to see what items we need to replace or stock.
That rock is beautiful!
I am so intrigued by the food storage you just have to share more information for us!hehe I would love to know how you will rotate it, how you use it, anything and everything I would love to know. We have some food storage but we are just starting it all. Thanks for pushing us all to get busy!
