I'm Organizing!

Sorry we missed SHS last week but I promise I had a doctor's note to excuse me! I will be here for Talk About Tuesday so I hope you'll join me. I have a lot to talk about!

I have been so lazy for the last several weeks that my coffee table has been continually covered with all my stuff, books, papers, snacks, projects, etc. Now that I'm feeling more like myself I couldn't take it anymore. I had to organize!

I cleaned up the mess and brought out a container that could slide under the table to hold all of our Mom and baby essentials: water, snacks, lotions, tissues, diapers and wipes. (I forgot to mention I also put a garbage can right next to my spot. Why didn't I think of this before!!!) Apparently I don't have plans of giving up my spot on the couch any time soon.

Why should I when I have such a sweet little companion to keep me company? Unfortunately she has to spend most of her days and nights under the bili lights until her jaundice clears up. It's sad to see her lying there when there are so many people who want to hold and love her!

Baby Under Bili LightsAll my babies have had jaundice so this is something we just have to deal with. The daily trips to the hospital for heel pokes and blood tests is the worst part of it. I am grateful though that we can do this at home so we don't have to leave her in the hospital.

Baby Under Bili Lights
It's funny to watch her stretch out so comfortably like that after being squished inside me for so long!

I just have to delurk to say CONGRATULATIONS. And OMG; she is so cute. Especially how she is all relaxed under the lights.

I hope it clears up soon, so you can just rest at home and bond.

I had to use a bili blanket with my last baby, (my first experience with bili lights) and it was nice that he could get his treatment but I could still hold him and nurse him. I don't have any cute pictures of him with sunglasses on though, just ones of him that make him look like a glow-worm with the light wand under his clothes lighting up his back! Hang in there and I knew you'd be so organized with your baby supplies.

We had the bili blanket with our last one so I remember the cute little glow-worm! It was so nice to be able to hold her but we found that it took longer to get her levels down so we went with the suitcase this time. Hopefully we'll only have to use it one more day.

She looks so cute...I just want to pinch her little thighs. I have never had to deal with jaundice (knock on wood). At least that is the least of your worries. Can't wait to see more of your little one.

That's so neat you can do it at home! We had to stay in the hospital two extra days with Emma (not fun!). She looks so darling! Rest well!

Medical practices have come a long way since mine were babies. Both mine were jaundice too, but with them both being born in June I was told to place them in the window in the sunlight with as few clothes on as possible. That worked!

CONGRATS on your beautiful baby girl!

I'm impressed with your desire to organize already! I bet it felt good to do it.

Sweetness is so cute! I hope her jaundice clears up soon.

Oh my gosh she looks so relaxed under that light. All 3 of mine had jaundice. We were able to do the bilibed and blanket at home with our last one since he wasn't a preemie.

congratulations!

I had guessed boy simply because everyone I've come across lately has had a boy, and because of that woman in one of your previous posts telling you it was a boy. ;)

8 pounds doesn't sound too wimpy to me, and she's adorable, congratulations, again!

She is the sweetest thing ever! How long was she? She doesn't look any worse for the wear, in fact, she looks perfectly snuggly in that suitcase. Congrats!

Yes, it's wonderful this can be done at home now. Although, I will admit this is the first time I've ever seen a picture of a baby in a home bili-light box. :) She's cute!!!

With my daughter, we used the bili blanket. She definitely looked like a glo-worm. My 3 year old son wanted to know when we would be done "charging" her up!

congrats!! I hope that she's getting pink and can ditch the lights soon. When my son was born he was under the lights in hospital for four days and it simply broke my heart not being able to hold him.

I remember clearly my nests, I had one in the living room, and one in the bedroom. Now that my daughter is seven months, the baskets I'd used have evolved into toy bins.

Oh, she is so beautiful! My baby (now 6!) was in the NICU for 4 days due to a seizure....and she reminds me so much of that. Big baby in the NICU! She's just darling...congratulations!
