No Baby!
Persistence was very mad when she got up this morning that nobody woke her up to go to the hospital last night. I have to admit I was mad too! My contractions were ten minutes apart all evening but I finally fell asleep. Only once did a really hard one wake me up but I went right back to sleep and that was it.
The good news is that yesterday my midwife measured the baby to be 9 pounds 12 ounces which I fully expect to be a few ounces off putting this baby over ten pounds. Yay! I guess a few more days can't hurt!
So what now? Jumping on the trampoline?
I'm not trying castor oil. I did that with my first baby. I drank it when I was three days overdue, went to bed, woke up an hour later and threw it up. I did actually go into labor a couple hours later (I thought) and went to the hospital but my contractions weren't strong enough so I had to have pitocin anyway. I don't want that this time. I'm holding out for the real thing!

Every pregnancy/labor is different. The Castor Oil was just a suggestion...your little one will come when he/she is ready. Hang in there!
I've never tried Castor Oil, and don't really want that experience.
Hope you have a nice big baby today!!! Or at least tomorrow.
We love ours.
Oh my goodness, I can hardly stand it so I can only imagine how you feel!!
My mom suggests doing jumping jacks. I tried it with #1, and ended up hitting my arm hard on my entertainment center after just a few minutes lol, but I did go into labor a few days later (probably coincidence). I think it's so funny you want a baby over 10lbs when almost everyone else hopes for one under 8. I actually hope mine will be over 9lbs this time lol, my other two were 8.15 and 8.14 and I want to hit the 9lb mark :D
Boy Laura you really know how to hunker down for the long haul. I wish I could have experienced a totally natural labor with no petocin. I had 2 of my babies with no epidural but had petocin every time for different reasons. YOU GO GIRL!!! I'm very proud of you. I keep checking your blog like 6 times a day to see when this baby will come. It can't stay in there forever! Happy Contractions!!!
Oh, see, you haven't had the baby yet because your baby counter over there on the left says five days left! Maybe if you change it, you'll have your baby!
I can't wait to hear! I keep hoping to hear something, though I realize you'll be gone for a few days before you can come and tell us anything!!
Good luck!!
I've never commented before, but have been reading for a few months now...
You have my complete empathy! I've been overdue with 3 of my 4 so far....and I also start out buying 3 mo. clothes for my newborns now, also, what with the last two being all but 11 lbs.
I'm 7 days from my due date with my 5th, but fully expect that I'll go over with this one as well. I'm loving your digital camera chore checking!
Anyway...all of mine have been "induced", getting them out the same way they got in, if you get my meaning. :-)
Best wishes for a quick to come, and quick to end labor,
Carrie
good luck....thanks for keeping us updated.

Whoohoo! It's almost time! So exicted for you!
I was ten days late with Becca and managed to have her completely naturally regardless...so worth the wait, pitocin is yucky!
Well, keep in mind this comes from someone whose ten-pounder was NINETEEN days past his due date and finally born at home (a planned homebirth). Have you tried Evening Primrose Oil? Stick a couple of capsules up "there"...I think that might have been what helped me. But them again, my little guy HAD to come out sometime, didn't he?!
Oh - and the Org Bags I ordered came today. That was FAST! I look forward to trying them out!
Wow lara still no bub well all the best. Looks like our baby may end up sharing there birthday's iam booked in for tommorrow the 16th for C-section. All the best and i look foward tothe annoucement maybe before i go in tomorrow. Tak eCare jillxx
Frustrating! I get so annoyed when I have contractions that don't get closer together and more intense, but instead fade away. When I start having contractions, I want them to be the real deal! I hope you have the baby tomorrow...that would make my guess correct. :-) AND you will be put out of your overdue, anxious for the baby to arrive misery!
It looks like you might beat me to the finish line (or the starting line, depending on how you look at it). I am really looking forward to some pain!
I SWEAR by castor oil! The more I take, the quicker the baby comes, so I am all over that stuff! (Though yes, it is incredibly icky, but if you're a wheatgrass juice drinker like i am, you learn to chug without tasting, then follow it with a powerful chaser!)
Good luck! :)
