Talk About Baby Clothes

Talk About TuesdayWelcome to Talk About Tuesday! If you are new, check out the Guidelines before posting. Thanks for joining us!

Who was wishing I would have a new baby to Talk About this week? ME!!!!!

My due date has come and gone so you are now welcome to start sending condolences. In the mean time I have absolutely nothing to talk about so instead I will show and tell what I have done so far to get ready for the baby.

Gymboree Baby Clothes for GirlI can't believe we are in the market for such tiny clothes again! Well, not so tiny considering I buy 3-6 month size for my newborns. Did I ever tell you the story from when I took my first baby out? An older lady asked me how old he was and I told her three weeks. She replied, "You mean three months honey?" Um, no. I think I know how old my baby is, "I mean three weeks." By the time he was four months old he weighed 20 pounds and we were enrolling him in preschool.

Gymboree Baby Clothes for BoyLast week I made Stranger take me to the mall so I could buy some baby clothes. Not that we really need them because Baby Noodle (apparently that's it's name now) could come home from the hospital wrapped in a baby blanket but I bought homecoming outfits for our other babies and I don't think we should start out neglecting this one right away. I would like to wait till it's older for it to feel like the unloved and unwanted fourth child.

I have been looking for outfits for months but everything I've seen in the stores has been hideously ugly. So one day before my due date I finally broke down and stepped inside a Gymboree store. It was a little scary because it was full of crazed sale shopping pregnant women. Maneuvering was difficult and not just because my belly was too big to fit between some of the isles. It was like a demolition stroller derby in there. Have I ever mentioned how much I hate crowds? My hatred of crowds exceeds my love of "The Deal" but I was too pregnant to turn back. I had to go home with baby clothes!

I was busy throwing things in the stroller as fast as I could (all at 30% off the sale prices lucky day) while Lovely followed the other mothers around telling them everything they wanted to know about our new baby and how it would soon make it's way into the world. See why I have to keep secrets from her?

Outside when Stranger asked me how much I had spent I told him he didn't want to know. He will get the pleasure of returning half of it after the baby gets here. That's his favorite part of shopping. If he gets the boy he's hoping for he will save even more money because I bought twice as many girl things as boy things. What can I say? Little girl clothes are irresistible!

Now all we need to do is buy a car seat, unpack and wash the baby clothes from the basement, find somewhere in the house for the baby to sleep, set up the crib, pack the hospital bag, clean the house and maybe start discussing what we'll be naming it but what's the rush?

That is going to be one hip baby!

I know what you mean, my daughter's feet were so large as an infant, she looked like Sasquatch - except for the hair (she didn't have any).

We kind passed up the newborn clothes for Jake, too...we are friends in the "10+ Pounder Club"!

The crazy part is I had a complication during my pregnancy with him that one of the side effects was low birth weight. I marvel to think how much he would have weighed if there had been no complication!

Oh! That baby's not here yet! Hurry up, Baby Noodle!

I know what ya mean about big babies. Our DD (almost 12 months old now!) was 22 lbs at her 4 month check up. She was 30 lbs at her 9 month. Now that she's crawling, some of that yummy baby fat is disappearing. Other babies look so scrawny compared to her.

Have a great Tuesday, with baby birthing wishes coming your way!

Those baby clothes are so cute! Girls are definitely more fun to buy for, but it looks like you found some cute boy clothes, too.
Good luck getting ready for the baby...let us know how you manage to do everything you need to from the couch. :-)

Two words...Cator Oil...it worked with my 4th. A word of advice, stay close to home (bathroom). But it worked!

Sorry.
That was supposed to be Castor Oil NOT Cator Oil!!!
I took 1 dose before my husband left for work that morning. By noon my husband was back home and we were headed over to the hospital. I gave birth at 4:00 pm.

Best Wishes to you and your family!

Oh goodness. I feel for you. I was 10 past edd with #1, and 6 with #2. Seeing as how I a bit over 29 weeks and ready for this to be done with :)

With #2 my mw suggested tons of parsley tea, (just organic parsley steeped in boiling water), evening primrose, black and blue cohosh, etc. and when that wasn't working she said to take some organic parlsey and shove up in there towards my cervix. That was what worked! Maybe not the solution for you, but thought I would suggest it! :)

Gymboree has some of the cutest and longer lasting kids clothes out there.

I can't stand mall shopping or crowds either, so I am amazed that you kept going and were able to put together such darling wardrobes.
