Move Along, There's Nothing To See Here
I have been dying to share this because it is so hysterical. I happened upon Mothering.com several weeks ago where some nice and some not so nice women were talking about me. I felt like such an evesdropper but it was fun. Here's a little of what they had to say about me. (You can find the entire thread here.)I could find no post on organizing, just on her pregnancy...sorry not interested in that in the least.True, there wasn't much organizing going on here two months ago but I think that should be allowed when you're nine months pregnant.
That is exactly what I was thinking! It really bugged me. That was a personal blog, not an organizing one.In case anyone was wondering, this is a personal blog and I write about (almost) anything I dang well want to write about. I'm pretty sure that's still legal in this country.
I don't really get it..you should buy her bags so you can clutter your house with a bunch of hooks with bags of stuff in them? You figured me out. This blog is all about trying to get you to buy more stuff so I can sell you my "weird" Organizing Bags to put it in. You can read more about my evil plan here, in this post, this one, and all of these. And when you're done don't forget to order more bags for all the stuff I talked you into buying.
P.S. Why did I post an unrelated picture of my baby in this post? Because I felt like it!

Gosh! My BIGGEST complaint about the "protection" of the computer screen is some people feels like it gives them the right to blab on and on with their CRAP about other people. Gah, give me a break, Mothering people. I've got your back on this one.
Total change of subject - that is one darn cute baby!!!
PS. Your "get your baby to sleep" posts were very well written. I agreed with practically everything - it worked for my two kids as well!
your baby is beautiful
Oh - those silly people. What use does it do to say such things! We like You! And you have a beautiful sweet baby! Keep sharing the good stuff and don't worry about the blah-blah-blahs from others!
How annoying. It's not like you have to subscribe with a dollar amount or anything to read your blog. I think it's great to get tips and find out about your family.
Well, I like your blog. You've got a lot of great organizing tips and (gasp!) an *actual* life.
Personally I get bored reading blogs that are one-subject driven and have no personality or life behind them.
If those snippy moms want to read 100 pages about nothing but organizing, they should just go buy a book.
Your baby is adorable, by the way. What a precious picture.
I LOVE reading your blog... the personality of your blog makes it fun at the same time as sometimes being practical! :) Don't stop keeping it... I always read in the morning when I'm doing Ollie's morning feed :) He likes your blog too hehehehe because you helped in getting him to sleep longer!

All I can say is "Jealousy makes you nasty".
Your blog is beautiful and interesting. It is so nice to see a small part of your life besides cleaning, organizing.
And about those "wierd" organizing bags - I think they are amazing. I wish I lived in America just so that I could by them inexpensively.
I enjoy your blog. Sharing about your family gives it a more personal feel, like you are a real person living a real life like the rest of us. I like that!
Goodness! To be completely honest, I'm would have something to complain and write about if you were still posting great organizational tips at 9 months prego or even 1 month postpartum. The fact that you are posting at all makes me almost hate you :) Just kidding... at least you know that your blog is OUT THERE, spoken of for good and for evil!
Love the picture of babe btw.
If they don't like it they don't have to read it! Yet, it sounds like they keep coming back anyways.
Your babies are beautiful, each and every one of them! We love getting to know you better.
I hope they dont start bashing me for not having every single post about my cat whose name is in my header! Cause I mean, If its mentioned in your header, it should be ALL you blog about. Period.
Ugh.
Love your blog and just don't get why people are so darn rude. Keep on posting (whatever you like).
that picture left me breatheless...she is precious!
How sad! People are actually out there nitpicking at other people for having the audacity to post what they want to on their own blogs? That is beyond messed up. Seriously. I fear for the human race.
Like all your other regular readers, I love you to bits and find your blog fascinating whether you're sharing funny family stories or organizing tips, or new organizing bag ideas.
LOL. Whatever! It's your blog, post whatever the heck you want to post! I enjoy reading it. :)
I say keep on doing exactly what you are doing :) !!
I've been reading your blog for a while, but I don't think I've ever left a comment. I just wanted to say that I love your blog. You have great tips, and I love reading about your fun family. Keep doing what your doing. It's great. :)
I don't think they read your blog title right...it says "Lazy Organizer"...what made them think you were Martha Stewart? LOL
I love to see pictures of your beautiful girls, so keep them coming!
I post on Mothering, especially in their Decluttering, Organizing & Simplifying forum. I don't know why I didn't see that thread, but normally I post glowing reviews of your blog. I've suggested it in multiple threads, along with OrgJunkie and Unclutterer.
Have you ever seen Chez Larsson? http://www.flickr.com/photos/chezlarsson/ (and she has a blog too). Someone on Mothering linked to it and some people loved it but others completely hated it. She saw all hits and came over and posted. Lots of people backtracked and said "well it's not my style, but you're obviously very talented!"
What a crack up! Are you not the "Lazy" Organizer? Doesn't that allow that you don't do it 24/7? Then again, reading everything else and knowing you're Supermom Extraordinaire, does make us expect more from you than I would say, myself. Maybe taking time off to have a baby was a little MUCH. Get that bod off the couch! LOL
I love your blog too. The blogs that stick to the subject and never wander don't hook me, and I end up unsubscribing. Off to go declutter!
Ignore the haters. No matter what you write about, someone is going to find something to rip you over.
My blog title is "For better or for worse", does that mean if every other post isn't bad I am not being true to my title? You can call your blog whatever you want to! I still read you almost daily (albeit from bloglines).
I found a lady who took a picture of my baby off my blog and ripped on me because I stuck a ribbon to her hair with glue. Said some pretty hurtful things. Specifically that it was abuse and CPS should find me.
Seriously! What happened to "if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all!"
hilarious. I get bored reading blogs that are all one subject. I love your blog exactly how it is.
And your baby is so cute. Do you believe in arranged marriages? I got a handsome boy a week older? haha.
And one day I'm buying bags. I like them!
Some people are just silly.
And could Sweetness BE any cuter? I think not. Congrats on the 11 hours sleep she got!
Hey positive or negative it brings people to your blog and they can judge for themselves! I think that's cool! And really I like that you share about your life and experiences it's honest and so less borring then "to have a clean house do this this and this and don't let the children get involved cause they won't do it right and they may learn something in the process" ;)
Thanks for a great blog Lara!
She's too cute to not put her beautiful face on the post. Too bad someone had a case of sour apples attack them. You write about what you want, I love it all, because it's all real life.
ha ha! You're like a celebrity, reading about yourself in the tabloids at the supermarket. Can I have your autograph?
Your baby looks just like a little angel. :)
I'm glad you write about what you please, because I like it.
I'm on MDC as well, and I have heard a lot of drama happens there. I usually just stick to my due date club and the Dingo thread on the running board. I feel safe there. :)
I came across your blog a few months ago when I too was very pregnant and looking for inspiration to get my butt in gear and channel some nesting instincts. HA! I now have a 1 month old along with my 21 month old. Anyways, I just wanted to say I love your blog. Please do not change a thing. I look forward to your posts everyday. Who cares what those stupid people say. Keep on keepin' on!! Ps... this is my first comment and usually I just like to sit bank and read but I just had to support you!!
Geez! YOUR blog, YOUR right to post whatever you want.
I'm sure this isn't true about everyone at mothering.com, but I've heard numerous similar stories regarding their forum. I think I'll pass!
Oh my gosh that totally cracks me up. You go girl! I love that you are you and not pretending to be anything else. So there :)
Hey, as Mothering threads go, that one is pretty tame! Mothering has some great info...and it also has a lot of VERY opinionated people--which sometimes is good and sometimes is, well, not!
Anything that causes you to post more pictures of Sweetness is a good thing! She is adorable!
~ Sarah
I adore your blog! I love reading about your life and several of your tips have crept into my life and home! I started messing around with my daughter's hair after reading your post about doing Lovely's hair and came up with my own fun combo (5 little ones like a headband)! I have been inspired by your food storage adventure...as we are doing the same here...and have even shared some of your advice with my hubbie! I love pics of your home and the beautiful area of the country you live in! I read your blog daily and LOVE the pics of your kiddos. The pic of your newest on this post is breathtaking. Keep up the good work and "nanner nanner nanner" to those who want to be nasty to you! Don't you love how so many people act like we're all still in High School?????
Wow, GranolaPunk sold you out really fast didn't she?
I read your blog because you're not just organizing. I can find organizing advice and tips in a million different places, but there aren't many that show me how it works in real life like you do. Thank you for including your family and your day to day life on your blog.
Hi, I'm Benita of Chez Larsson which was mentioned above. I was also the target of some rude comments in that forum a while back. Don't let them get to you. There do seem to be some nice pepole over there too so don't let the foul one's dampen your spirit. It's your blog so you can do what ever you want with it. They can just stop reading if what's being written bothers them.
I love your blog. It's waaaaayyyyy better than mine!!! Who cares what people say!!!
Amen to every comment above! Keep on keeping on!
Oh! And I LOVE my organizing bags (even if you did "con" me into buying them)! ;)
I love reading your blog just the way it is!
Perhaps, the picture of your beautiful baby isn't so unrelated afterall...babies are such precious, innocent, peaceful little beings. This photo of your sleeping baby conveys the goodness in humans.
The people on the "mothering" site should feel ashamed for being so rude and mean-spirited toward you and your family.
I don't remember how I stumbled upon your blog, but I know that not only can I pick up amazing organizational tips, but I can enjoy a few moments reading and enjoying some wonderful ideas from you!
Maybe those people don't know how to relate to someone who is "real". Not sure except you're on my RSS feed list, even as pathetic as you are. (takes one to know one!) ... the joys of being "public" with your life! Love ya
What is wrong with people?
The baby? Precious!
I took a break from blogging for a while, so I'm catching up on some of your posts....man, people are so rude! And who cares what someone posts about on their own personal blog. If you don't like it, don't visit them - but you don't have to cut them down to others.
Sorry someone said those things.
I always enjoy visiting your blog.
And your baby. oh my gosh - adorable.
This really chaps my hide. I've learned more organizing tips from you than from any of the dozens of books I've read over the years or the various presentations I've seen by "professional" organizers. You have real, practical advice and you're a genuine person too (with adorable children). Good grief. If you only wrote about organizing all the time, this would not be an organizing BLOG, it would be an organizing website. And who needs another one of those?
First, your baby is beautiful!!
Who cares what they think? Only they do! It doesn't matter what your blog is called, it's yours and you can blog about anything you want! I tried to see the whole thread, but the site was down. Darn, I like gossip!
I totally hate angry blogs but I LOVED!!!!!! This one!!!! It would be no fun reading you if we couldn't get to know you. And thanks for the help with getting started on organizing my home AND YOU DIDN'T TRY TO SELL ME ANY BAGS!!!!
lol, some people have no lives.
What skanks. They are dumb. Nuff said.
I love your blog. All of it.
I definitely would HATE your blog if at nine months pregnant your house was perfect and you wrote about organizing it! I am 6 months pregnant with baby #4 and all I want is one of those organizing tv shows to just show up and save me!
Your baby is beautiful. I have 15 grandchildren, so I think I know beautiful. I enjoy your blog and guess what? I just bought some of your organizing bags to organize my purse and whatever else! (hurry up and send them, will you, my bag arrived TODAY! lol ..... ) Blogs: I love your blog. I love the personal. I admit that I am here originally for the organizing tips, but the personal is what makes it fun! My blog was going to be about crafts - my crafts to showcase them , but it evolved! It now includes things I want to make (hey, it organizes them so I don't LOSE them! :) ) and about my family.. it has become a legacy now! "It isn't the destination, it is the journey along the way." That's the way Harley riders belive..... and that's where my blog is.... maybe yours too! So please just keep on doing what you are doing and THANK YOU, sweetie!!! Bless your heart!
hugs,
Marcia
Who gives a rat's behind what other people think! I for one enjoy your blog and your wit! If someone doesn't like what you write there is plenty of other stuff out there to read. That is what choice is all about... and post as many pictures of your family and life as you want! You are the one organizing your life and we as readers are just trying to get inspired!!!
I don't usually comment, BUT I love your blog and have ordered your "weird bags" I love 'em:) I tell all my SIL's and friends about them too! Blog on!! Beautiful baby:)
