Sweet Dreams

We spent the day Thursday at Roy pool with my Aunt and my two little cousins that are closer to my kids' ages than mine. Since the boys were going to Scout camp the girls invited Persistence and Lovely over for a slumber party that night. It's not often that little three year old Lovely gets invited to do fun things with the "kids" as she calls them. They both had a great time and I had great dreams of what I would accomplish on Friday: reading, working, organizing, napping, you name it.

The reality with a two month old Sweetness was that I got about two solid hours to myself before the girls came home at 2:30 in the afternoon. Waaaay too early if you ask me! In fact I was 5 minutes into a nap when they walked in the door with their fists full of artwork and home made lip gloss.

The good news is that my Lovely little terror is going on a trip with her Grandma this week and will be gone for three whole days. Did you just get butterflies in your stomach? I did!!!

Now that I know the realities of my situation I can plan on getting about 9 hours of work done in that time if I'm lucky. With a little help from my Persistent babysitter and a lot of ignoring of my other three children it may be more so here's what I have planned. I'm going to paint the kitchen island that is coming up on it's one year anniversary and really deserves to get prettied up for it. And I'm going to at least get started on a blessing dress for Sweetness. (BTW Stranger, did I mention we were going to be blessing her in two weeks when my family is here?)

Wish me luck!

Sounds like you have planned just the right amount for the time you think you'll have. I'd love to see before and afters of your island. T~

Sounds like a plan. My little girl was one an overnighter this weekend and I managed to get her room cleaned out. I wanted to get more done but I still had my 2 boys with me.

I have to ask...what kind of bows are in Sweetness' hair? I have a 12 month old with very thin, fine, hair and I am DYING to put in some bows!

Miriam,

I bought packages of various ribbon in the stationary section of Target. You could also get some in the scrapbooking section of a craft store. That's a good way to get fun styles without having to buy a whole roll.

The kids help me tie the little bows and we glue them to her head with KY Jelly. Just so you know a generic brand didn't stick for us. Get the KY.

I use a washable glue stick to put bows on Evy's head. KY has never worked for me.

It's really a sad truth that time alone goes WAAAY too fast. 2 hours alone seems like 10 minutes, doesn't it?

Oh--and she's got some pretty kissable cheeks, too! So pretty.
