We’re getting ready to bless Elisabeth on Sunday. I finished making her dress and Chris is knitting her booties. He made Kate’s booties when she was blessed so I guess it’s a tradition for Daddy to make the booties. I bet there are not many women out there who can say their husbands knit! I’ve been obsessed with the whole knitting thing ever since Elisabeth was born. I made her blanket and dress and I just finished knitting her some booties that match her blanket. Now I’m knitting a hat for a friend who just had a baby yesterday. Shhhh, don’t tell her. I’m already planning all the new projects I want to knit. This isn’t a good thing considering I just went to a quilting show and came back with four new quilting projects to make. Well, we all know I’m not the type to let them sit unfinished so I’d better get to work. I wish my obsessive compulsive crafting disorder would take over in the house keeping department but it doesn’t. Once I start a project I don’t want to put it down until it’s finished. Nope, it doesn’t work that way with cleaning!
Speaking of cleaning…I’m working to get the house cleaned up for the blessing. My plan was to do one room every day this week. Here it is Wednesday and have I completed any rooms yet? Of course not! I did go out and spend a few minutes yesterday whacking down some ivy that had taken over my front porch. I have spent a couple days weeding the flower beds too. I’m going to work on them some more this morning if I can go back to bed and get some sleep. I’m embarrassed to say I woke up from a bad dream I had about Martha Stewart and couldn’t go back to sleep! Something about Martha and the Jerry Springer show. Poor Martha. I really do feel sorry for her. I can’t imagine what her life has been like the last few years. And I think a baby blessing is stressful!
